June 8, 2009 A few pics of the pups Sweet Lola....She is the most reserved of all the pups. She is also the the one that likes to lay with me on the couch the most. Her personality is so much different than any of the other pups. Some time she is so bold and the next second she is scared to go near a new thing. Another pup goes there and she is just fine. Watching her is interesting. For as fearful as she gets she is also independant and even though you can tell she is worried about going somewhere, or on something new she keeps doing it. So there is some bravery there. She is an interesting pup. Baby Red. I sure like her. she has a lot of spunk. First picture is her trying to warm up to Uncle TK....who really doesn't care for the pups. I have learned that all of the pups can NOT be loose at the same time anymore. They forget their names and how to come. May 26, 2009 I put the pups on sheep today to see if there was any interest. First up was Lovely Lola...She is the littlest of all the pups. A real sweet heart to be around. She wasn't to keen on walking to the barn- I tried to let all the pups walk there for their new experience. Lola...she said, I don't think so. So , I carried her to the barn, let her sniff the hay, say "hi" to the cats and we went in to the sheep. She did exactly what I expected a 6.5 wk old pup to do...stay with me and watch the situation. She would get excited when I got the sheep to run and she would hurry out for a couple of feet, then she seemed to realize that she was alone and hurry back to me. When following the sheep, her favorite place to walk was in between my feet. She was a good little girl. Next was Izzy....we did the same as all the other pups...I followed the sheep around while holding her....put her down and said "Come on Izzy lets get the sheep." And she was off...she was pushing them all around the arena, with me in the middle. Sometimes they would be snug on the fence sometimes off by a couple of feet. They only separated once, she stopped and let them regroup and then went back to pushing them around. I was in awe....all I could say was "WOW" I did not expect this. At least not for another 3-4 wks. I did get several good pics of her. Last was Baby Red....who did a remarkable job also. She didn't mind getting 10-15 ft away so i got a few pics of her too. She is a thinker like her mom, but a go getter like her dad. Really liked to make the sheep hurry. She was a hoot to watch!! All in all, I was REALLY happy with what the pups showed me. Genetically they have what it takes to be great stockdogs...which is what I want. It is great to see the little light bulbs flicker at this young age.

May 7th Eyes are open. They are playing with each other and they are very chubby puppies!! Ruby feeds them well. They are getting mush twice a day. They will be 4 wks old tomorrow. They now know what "Breakfast" means...though they haven't figured out "Supper"
April 30th Weighed pups Lola-

RJ-
2lb 4oz (rbf)
Coal-
2lb 10oz (btf)
This is a
nice quiet group. They fuss Ruby is there to take care
of them pretty much immediately. She does not like to be far
from them
for any length. She did sleep part of the night on my bed
room floor
the last couple of nights. She misses me.
:-) They are starting to
play and wrestle.
April 27th 17 days old Lola
